Have you ever been to an Indian movie where the ending left you with more questions than answers?
Then you must see Andhadhun(Blind tune). This movie directed by Sriram Raghavan is a pure roller coaster ride.
We went to this movie after watching the trailer and the reviews. So we went in with some expectations. And, this movie did not disappoint.
Normally, in a Hindi movie trailer, we more or less know the whole movie in a nutshell. We know the good guys, the bad guys, the overall plot and everything in between. But this movie came as a surprise. The events shown in the trailer are in the first 20 minutes of the movie and the rest is a complete surprise.
You will be afraid to blink so as to not miss a twist in the plot. I simply loved this movie experience. Twist upon twist upon twist! I cannot recall any other hindi or regional language film that kept me at the edge of my seat. I loved all the jump scares it had. Each one made me hold on to my hand rest or gasp or both! 🙂
Here is a man pretending to be blind and he can play a piano amazingly. He “sees” a woman and a man disposing a body, all the while playing the piano. After that, his life becomes a series of events that simply kept me glued to the screen.
The most wonderful and surprising part of this movie experience is the ending. It was delightfully ambiguous. The audience is left wondering what just happened. Do you remember the sensation of 2015: Baahubali 1? That one left you at a cliffhanger and led to the nation wondering “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?”. But this one is different.
It is open to interpretation. Each one of us can take it as we like it, and arrive at our own conclusion. That is indeed a unique thing in Indian movies. After the movie was released, there have been so many YouTube videos explaining the ending of the movie in different ways.
It is as if the makers wanted to extend the making of the movie after it is over and allow the viewer to make his/her own ending.
Loved this one. One of the best of 2018
The A2Z challenge 2019 is going to be all the movies that have left an impact on me someway or the other. Some have made me think. Some that I like a lot, some that I really hated. But all of them have left a memory behind which makes the movie more special than the rest. They may not be all classics or iconic but they are close to my heart.
