Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Such a long name for a movie, right? I like the 2016 movie more than the sequel Fantastic beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald.

This movie series, (there are going to be a total of 5 movies) is strictly for the fans of Harry Potter or Potter Heads. Set in the wizarding world before Harry is born, it traces the adventures of Newt Scamander, the friendly neighbourhood magi-zoologist of the magical world.

I was introduced to Harry Potter way back in 2007 by my daughter. She got a book to read from her friend. I read it before she did! I read it for 2 reasons. One to see what the hype was all about and second to make sure its contents were appropriate for my then young daughter.

And then both of us were hooked! I started with the 3rd book, read the 4th and then went back to the 1st and 2nd and then completed the series. I was lucky in a sense that all the 7 books were out by then and I did not have to wait for the publication to drop and wait in suspense like the whole world did!

I am more of a book person than a movie person. The movie adaptations of the Harry Potter books are simply substandard in my opinion. The vivid description of J K Rowling are missing in the movies, though some CGI of Quidditch matches are nice. I resent those parts of the movies that deviated from the books. They made me angry!

But this movie is different, mainly because there are no books for me to fall back on and compare the two. πŸ˜€

Maybe another reason could be that the screenplay of these movie series is JK herself. She is the creator of this wizarding world, so she has a better hold on all the characters.

She managed to create new characters in this film who somehow link us back to Harry Potter world. This movie cleared a few issues from the books and raised a few more! A great way to keep people hooked on to the series.

I am looking forward to the movie that will pit Grindelwald and Dumbledore together. I was so looking forward to that in the second one but that did not happen. I hope that will happen soon.

The A2Z challenge 2019 is going to be all the movies that have left an impact on me someway or the other. Some have made me think. Some that I like a lot, some that I really hated. But all of them have left a memory behind which makes the movie more special than the rest. They may not be all classics or iconic but they are close to my heart.
