He was feeling inspired. His mom said that she would like a coffee. He would make it for her. He had seen her make it a lot of times now.
He pulled a stool from the hall. He needed it to reach the counter. He took the kettle, filled water in it, and carefully put the kettle on the stove.
He switched on the stove and waited for the water to boil.
He stood on tiptoe and reached for the coffee powder and sugar. His mom liked the coffee black, no milk, one spoon of sugar.
He put the coffee powder and sugar into the water and mixed well. He filtered the coffee into her favourite mug, put it on a tray and carried it carefully to his mother in the balcony. Behind him, the kitchen looked like a battle field!
She took it from her 8 year old son and sipped the coffee. It was not great but the love of her son was much more than the disaster in the kitchen.

Great story. Reminded me of my boys when they were younger. Not that they made me coffee, just the mother’s response.
