The creature stirred. It was rejoicing. Every time a tree was cut, the creature gained strength. Today was a bonanza. The forest was being cleared. That means the creature would gain a lot today.

Slowly, ever so slowly, the monster was becoming bigger and bigger.

The humans were unaware. Sure some of them were getting an inkling. But they were far and few.

Soon it would be the monster’s kingdom.

Climate change just waited for it’s day. Like a crouching tiger, waiting for the final pounce.

For now, it was just gaining strength.
